The Standard
The Creator Relations Standard™ is a privately issued governance standard defining how expectations are interpreted in professional creator relationships.
It applies where creators and counterparties engage under expectations related to compensation, authority, or content usage.
It does not prescribe terms, determine outcomes, or evaluate behavior. It exists to identify structure where expectations are present but often assumed.
The Standard may be referenced across relationship types, including:
- brand collaborations
- representation or management
- content ownership, licensing, or reuse
These relationships may occur across professional environments, including third-party platforms and content distribution services. Platforms can change terms; parties can’t afford to pretend expectations didn’t change with them. The Standard exists to keep interpretation accurate when the surface shifts.
What the Standard Is Not
The Creator Relations Standard™ does not:
- provide advice
- certify creators or counterparties
- enforce compliance
- intervene in disputes
- replace contracts, law, or professional counsel
Licensed use grants permission to reference the Standard within a defined scope only.
How the Standard Is Used
Within professional relationships, the Creator Relations Standard™ functions as a reference authority.
It is consulted to establish shared interpretation prior to decisions or action. Any decisions that follow remain external to the Standard and the responsibility of those who apply it.
The Standard exists to reduce misinterpretation, not to determine outcomes.
Issuance & Stewardship
The Creator Relations Standard™ is issued and maintained by Creator Relations IP LLC.
The issuer retains sole authority over interpretation, versioning, scope, and licensing.
The Standard is privately issued, jurisdiction-neutral, and does not interpret or replace local law.
